Somehow, this has to be written to get it out of my system.

 

 

I just don’t mean the things that annoy me on Twitter, but on social network in general. Perhaps it’s all the technology that’s available to us and how everything is right at our fingertips that we forget how to be human. We think that we are talking to bots all the time and we behave like those bots ourselves.

Here are my top three peeves:

1. laziness – you know, if people just learn how to Google, this world will be a better place.

I hate it when I tweet something and then someone asks me a glaring question that would have been answered if h/she only clicked on the link in the tweet.

Don’t turn me into your personal Google.

Maybe if you say please, I might. But maybe not.

2. rudeness – “thank you” is the most underrated phrase online.

On the other hand, I don’t expect gratitude because there are some people who think they are special and that you owe it to them. But I expect courtesy especially if it has nothing to do with me and everything to do with you.

Would a reply to acknowledge something kill us? And this does not just apply to Twitter but chats as well.

“Got it.” Did typing that take forever?

3. spamming – I admit I tweet consecutively when something interesting is happening.

But I get conscious especially since I have two separate fandoms on my timeline.

Of course it’s our account and it’s within our rights to tweet whatever we want, but be mindful that not everyone wants to read every little thought you have about every nano second of your life.

Unless of course you’re one of the celebrities I stan.
