Christmas came early with the announcement that Kyou Koi Wo Hajimemasu (Today, Our Love Begins) will soon have a live action movie adaptation, according to Tokyo Hive.

KKWH is one of my favorite mangas. It’s very typical, a hate-turns-love relationship, an awkward girl and the hottest guy in the campus. Yeah yeah, we’ve heard it before. But Kyouta and Tsubaki are very amusing characters — they also have the same names — last name (for him) and first name (for her), and that’s how their story begins.

I love how sometimes Minami Kanan would draw the characters as their chibi selves, especially when they commit something embarrassing. So kawaii.

The characters actually remind me of my OTP. If this was going to be a Taiwanese production, I’d wish for my OTP to play Kyouta and Tsubaki. But since this is Japanese… the fans actually have several suggestions. Jin Akanishi would be a perfect fit for the role of Kyouta but it is impossible since he’s focusing on his Hollywood career.

Anyway, the series has ended already in Japan but the scanlation is taking forever. I wonder how the long and arduous journey of Kyouta and Tsubaki ended.
