quirky Asia: Maru the cat

I have been spending most of this Saturday watching videos of Maru, dubbed as the “funniest cat on the planet”.

Maru is a Scottish Fold cat who lives in Japan and loves boxes and paperbags. Watch his video here:

I love dogs (yes Jay Chou, gou, gou, gou, gou). The only reason why I don’t like cats is because of the smell of their poop–lethal. But if dogs are sweet creatures, cats are charming.

Maru is an Internet sensation. He has a blog and a YouTube channel.

Now, he’s a book author too! OK, maybe not him but his owner, Mugumogu.

“This round, adorable Scottish Fold cat may be an internet sensation, but he knows how to keep his celebrity status from going to his fluffy head . . . mostly. Maru and his owner, Mugumogu, give readers a peek into the low-key life of the world’s most famous cat. See all his favorite hiding places—trash cans, cupboards, cereal boxes . . . if it’s cozy, he’s there—meet his treasured toys, and learn what it means to wield just the right amount of cat-titude.” – I Am Maru

Makes me want, not only to buy the book, but have a cat too.

  1. Soooo cute!!! He’s not a little fat… he’s a lotta fat! hahahaha. So cute and fluffy, I wanna squish him!

This makes me imagine having my own cat here. Nah, I’ll just stick to imaginary and youtube cats. I love Maru’s paws, he’s like wearing fancy gloves. Cool cat most def.

I agree about cat poop though. Nasty!

    • oh I remember Gail, you love cats! you post them in your blog, right? hahaha

yes, Maru’s paws look like he has gloves or socks on.

Cats are also quiet creatures… and cunning lols
